History

Ibn Sina Academic Research Center (ISARC)

Since its establishment date (early of 1990's) Ibn Sina Academic Research Center (ISARC), on the respect of great Iranian philosopher (Abu Ali Sina) tried to take its strides in favor of divine courtesy and respecting thinkers and pundits of various sciences during jobbery and profiteering era.

Building of ISARC (except a short time on Keshavarz Blvd.) always has located at Shahrak-e Qods (Iran Zamin St.) for more than a decade. During this time, Ibn Sina Academic Research Center has succeeded to offer and propose numerous services to Iranian-Islamic culture and civilization science by taking advantage from divine success.

Publishing more than 700 books and dissertations about various humanities as well as technologic issues were of some activities of this academic center. This center has played an effective role on cultural interactions with contemporary scientific centers by communicating with global scientific institutes (such as UNESCO, Oxford University, New York University, Moscow University and Hamburg Islamic Centers and etc.) and launching a website since end of 1990's to now.

Anthropological Encyclopedia

Fortunately, first two decades subsequent to Glorious Islamic Revolution were accompanied with enhancement of collecting various encyclopedias. Similarly, valuable encyclopedias and dictionaries were emerged in different humanities and even natural sciences in both Persian and other languages.

Collecting an anthropological encyclopedia about human being and his existential dimensions on various objective and subjective trances was a thought which has been emerged so many years ago on mind of founders of the Ibn Sina Academic Research Center.

However, scientific outcomes of the plan were fruited in early 1990's and "Anthropological Encyclopedia Collection Comprehensive Plan" seized the opportunity to be evolved. After publication, this plan was consigned to several cultural-scientific institutes throughout the world and was confronted with an eye-catching reception of various societies. Amongst them, approving mentioned plan (as observed plan) by Presidential Entities, Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance as well as UNESCO can be enumerated.

Since the beginning, anthropological encyclopedia has been predicted with two (integrated) viewpoints: Either in anthropological framework or out of this science, however it continues its activities toward serving culture.

Except virtual anthropological branches which enjoy from prominent and ancient state amongst humanities, there are plentiful humanities which have dealt with human being; all branches of humanities have been relied on human recognition, and analyzing his deeds and opinions.

Psychology, sociology, law, economy and even philosophy, theosophy and theology were created to recognize human being from their own panorama.

In the same direction, Anthropological Encyclopedia Center has embarked to print both relevant literature and texts and juridical, legal, philosophical, theological, psychological and economic dissertations and theses. Such extent operational definition led the collectors of the preliminary plan to prepare preliminaries of collecting the encyclopedia so later than anticipated deadline and took so many years.

Eventually, during end of 1990's, activity of sub-collections has been focused on collecting encyclopedia and "Anthropological Encyclopedia Center was established in order to coordinate and integrate scientific-executive affairs, and Dr. Sadegh Mahfouzi was selected as the head of this center.

There was initial core of research-based groups even before organizing this center in the heart of ISARC.

Later, those researchers and authors who were active in various fields of humanities formed some consolidated groups under supervision of scientific authorities of the encyclopedia and its inputs were started to be penned by and Cultural Works and Manuscripts Museum of Dr. Sadegh Mahfouzi.

Cultural Works and Manuscripts Museum

Since so many years ago, personal interests of the center's CEO (Dr. Sadegh Mahfouzi) to collect and investigate about inscriptions provided an exquisite personal collection for him which then was became one of the most valuable and unique museums of the Middle East gradually.

Although all of such exquisite and valuable works had been provided by hard workings and personal funds of the CEO (and his prestigious sire) during years, they were held in some discrete caches and had not any regulated discipline.

On the other hand, always this menace chagrined the mind that most important objective and incentive of purchasing and keeping this priceless treasure, i.e. presenting and showcasing them for researchers and cultural society of the country, is unmet because of such dispersion and elite researchers are unaware about this unique collection.

These factors in addition to beautiful insight of Dr. Mahfouzi and research muse within intellectual styles and initiative trends of our ancestors have resulted in dedication of some floors of Encyclopedia Center's building as museum and permanent exhibition of artistic and cultural manuscripts, therefore abovementioned manuscripts were deployed in an appropriate place for using of general public and their admirers.
